The Power of Personal Branding: What We Learned from Monica Rivera
We’re still thinking about the recent workshop we hosted, The Power of Personal Branding: Influence, Impact, Identity, with Monica Rivera. Monica gave us a practical, inspiring framework to help us think differently about how we show up. She has something that applies to everyone, whether you’re navigating a career pivot, looking to lead with more intention, or just figuring out what your thing is. Her big reminder? You don’t need to wait until you’ve got it all figured out to start showing up. Your personal brand already exists; it’s just about getting aligned with it.
We also talked about the things that tend to trip us up like overthinking, inconsistent messaging, or holding back because we’re afraid of being “too much.” Monica reminded us that when you know your value, it becomes a lot easier to speak up and stand out.
A few things you can do right now:
Make a list of your strengths, interests, and the things people come to you for
Write down what problem or challenge you’re uniquely positioned to help solve
Audit your LinkedIn or personal site to make sure it reflects where you’re headed, not just where you’ve been
Talk to new people! Your next opportunity might be a conversation away
We’re so grateful to Monica for sharing her time and her insight with us and to all of you who showed up and made the conversation such a good one.
